Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where are you located?
At the corner of Bayfield and Suncoast Rd.
  • What time is the service?
Our service starts at 10:30 am and usually ends around 11:45 am.
  • Where do I park?
We have a large parking lot. Parking spots near the entrance are reserved for seniors.
  • Is there something for my kids?
During the service we have a nursery available and Sunday School during the sermon time.
  • What should I expect when I arrive?
When you enter Bethel, you will be welcomed by one of our greeters just inside the main doors. Feel free to ask them for directions if it's your first time at Bethel. As you enter the foyer, at a glance, you will see everything you need — to your left and clockwise will be the sanctuary, welcome centre, coffee centre, nursery, office, and washrooms. You can sit anywhere you want in the sanctuary and for family convenience, the back left rows are reserved for families with young children, should they choose.
  • What does a typical service look like?
Come a bit early and enjoy a complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate at the coffee centre, reconnecting with friends or making new ones. Our typical service includes a welcome and announcements, followed by corporate praise and worship, prayer, and the preaching of God’s Word. Children from age 3-12 are dismissed just before the sermon, for Sunday School downstairs in the West Hall (below the sanctuary).
  • How do I join a small group?
Our Life Groups happen throughout the year, at the church and in people’s homes. This is a great way to deepen both your faith and friendships. If you have further questions, connect with Steve Albrecht, our church life pastor, steve@realchurch.ca
  • How can I get involved in the church?
There are always opportunities to be involved. Bethel is a place to become a place to belong! One of the ways to belong and grow in your faith is serving. Please check out our ‘newcomers’ section on the website to find more information. You can also reach out to our administrator Karen Warnar — karen@realchurch.ca. She would be happy to help.
  • What does it mean to become a Christian?
    1) Admit you are a sinner and turn away from your sin. Acts 3:19 says: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (NIV) 2) Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to save you from your sins and give you eternal life. John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave His only son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV) 3) Come to Him by faith. In John 14:6, Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (NLT) 4) You may pray a simple prayer to God. Prayer is simply communicating with God. There is no special formula. Just pray from your heart to God, and He will save you. If you feel lost, and just do not know what to pray, here is a prayer of salvation you can pray: Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your Son, Jesus Christ died, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus‘ name I pray, Amen. 5) Now, don’t doubt. Salvation is by grace, through faith. There’s nothing you did, or ever can do, to deserve it. It’s a free gift from God. All you have to do is receive it! Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (NIV) 6) Tell someone about your decision. Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (NIV)
